New Legends Set to Debut in WWE '12
08/09/2011 13:47Some bloggers are saying that its time for truly new legends to grace THQ’s WWE titles instead of the constant appearance of admittedly fan favorites and wrestling greats, Andre The Giant, Jimmy Snuka, and Roddy Piper. Some proposed names floating on the blogsosphere includes Owen Hart, Diamond Dallas, and Goldberg. While having the same small group of legend appear over and over in the video game series does serve a purpose (well, they are classic wrestlers), many players are also looking for novelty and newer wrestling legends that reflect their own particular time and era. We’ll know sure enough come SummerSlam.
Professional wrestling is a veritable goldmine of talent. There are just too many stars who graced WWE’s long storied history to cram into a video game dedicated to the WWE. However, that doesn’t mean the creative team behind THQ’s WWE ’12 won’t try.
Although we’ll learn the full roster sure enough at the upcoming SummerSlam, hopes are quite high regarding the huge roster of 60+ wrestling giants that are sure to excite many wrestling fans. One particular subject of fan speculation is the rumored appearance of The Rock in WWE ’12. According to WWE ’12 Creative Director Corey Ledesma, the roster will feature “new legends.” That’s huge. And that’s all that’s needed to keep The Rock rumors alive.
